Dr Graham Griffiths B. Mus (Edinburgh), D.Phil (Oxon), PGCE
Graham studied music at Edinburgh University (BMusHons), Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge (PGCE) and at Christ Church, Oxford (DPhil., Musicology). He joined Cumnor in 2010 as Assistant Director of Music responsible for teaching music to Reception children and Years 1 to 4. Graham particularly enjoys arranging well-known musical works to suit individual abilities at the early stages of learning an instrument. He directs the Cumnor String ensembles and in Spring 2016 will launch the new Training Cumnorchestra. He regularly visited schools, universities and music societies offering talks on classical music (www.griffiths-lectures.com). Following the publication of his Stravinsky monograph in 2013 (www.cambridge.org/9780521191784) Graham was appointed Lecturer in Musicology and Honorary Research Fellow at City University London; in October 2015 he was invited to deliver a lecture-recital on his book at the XV St Petersburg Conservatoire International Festival Week.
