Cumnor is highly progressive in its approach to learning support strategies. We offer a suite of supportive, age-appropriate measures to each child at every step of their academic journey.
Cumnor’s ethos is that every learner is individual. This means that there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Our understanding of child development and neuroscience, and the longer-term impact on children of the pandemic, is growing rapidly. So, it is critical that we are able to respond to our pupils’ range of needs. With the very latest in learning support models.
Unfortunately, we cannot meet every learning need. We wish we could, but some children will require a more specialist environment than we can offer.
For those that we can support, through our community of experts and personalised approach, we take enormous joy in seeing them grow in confidence and ability, in making friends and fulfilling their unique potential.

Our Provision
Led largely by our own expert team here, we cover everything from booster sessions, short-term interventions, small group support and coaching to one-to-one lessons. We also partner with other specialists, such as a Speech and Language Therapist and Occupational Therapists, to ensure we meet a range of needs.
Using technology, we can maximise the effectiveness of all our learning support initiatives. Transforming a pupil’s day-to-day school experience, as well their academic success and ultimately, their self-confidence.

Learning Enhancement at Cumnor brings together the best team to support each child individually. In addition to working with one or more of our highly qualified Learning Enhancement Team members, children will have a bigger support community around them.
All staff, including our Pastoral Team, are part of this community, to ensure clear communication, consistency of language and approach in every aspect of school life. As are parents, who, as the definitive supporters of their children, are closely involved at every stage.
