Choosing the right Nursery, Pre Prep or Prep for your child – for your whole family, in fact – is a big decision; but one that we know you will be confident to make once you have seen for yourself what makes Cumnor so special. We are here to guide you every step of the way.
Cumnor is home to more than 400 children, including Nursery, who thrive in the open, friendly and collaborative environment we have created here – one that is designed around them, as individuals, to help them reach their full potential.
We are a non-selective school. We believe in each and every child in our care, and have ambitions for them. We are immensely proud of what they go on to achieve, with remarkable scholarship success and entry to some of the country’s top senior schools.
Fundamental to our success is the value we place on parent partnership and individualised care. We see progression at Cumnor as a collective endeavour; you can see and feel the strength of our community on a daily basis.

It is my privilege to welcome your child to Cumnor, whether on the first day of Nursery, the milestone of starting Reception, transitioning to the Prep School in Year 3 or preparing for senior school and enjoying a first foray into boarding with confidence in Years 7 and 8. Admissions process
2. Come and see us
We offer informal personal tours of our school, to fit into your schedule, at any time during the term and during our dedicated Open Weeks.
3. Register
We would encourage you to register early, particularly for the Nursery and Pre-Prep. After you have had a chance to visit us, we will invite you to complete our online Registration Form to progress your application. On receipt of this and the (non-refundable) Registration Fee, we will progress to organising a Taster Day.
4. Taster Day
All children who are registered for the Prep or Pre-Prep will be invited for a Taster Day. This is a chance for your child to find out what a typical school day feels like at Cumnor, and for us to get to know them. It is also an opportunity for you to experience the warmth and hospitality of our community, and learn about how our families become involved. In the Prep school, each child is allocated a ‘buddy’ to guide them through the day and show them the fun bits! For Nursery children, a shorter Taster Session will be arranged.
5. Offer & place accepted
Following the Taster Day, we hope to be in a position to offer a place, subject to availability. Your child’s place is secured on receipt of the full deposit and signed Parent Contract.

A warm welcome awaits! Our Parent Hub will provide everything you need to help you settle into the routines of Cumnor life.
