Every day we see the real-life impact of our Foundation Scholarships. Not just on the pupils themselves, but on their families, their futures and on the community as a whole. Our community.

We want to do more, though.

We want to give more children the opportunity of a Cumnor education. We want to make at least two new awards each new school year, and we want to build up an endowment that can be invested to underwrite Cumnor’s Foundation Scholarships far into the future.

To do this, we need to increase levels of philanthropic support from individuals, such as grant-making trusts and corporate bodies. This will allow us to sustain and expand the Foundation Scholarship programme, enabling more children and families across Sussex the chance to benefit from these life-changing awards.

I believe that education is the most powerful force available for providing opportunity in life across all social and economic divides; especially the most junior formative years that Cumnor covers. Supporting The Cumnor Foundation enables me to share some of the good fortune I have had in life in the hope others may be as lucky as I have been in their futures.

How to give

We welcome all donations, at any levels. Every gift, no matter its size, will make an immediate and meaningful difference.

All donations given via the Cumnor Foundation will be directed to the Cumnor Foundation Scholarship programme. Cumnor House Sussex covers the cost of all fundraising initiatives, so that 100% of every donation is applied to the scholarship programme.

By including The Cumnor Foundation in your Will, you will be able to offer a life-changing opportunity to more children in the future. It will cost you nothing now and enables you to take advantage of perhaps the most generous tax deduction offered by the Government.

By leaving 10% or more of your residual estate to a charity such as The Cumnor Foundation, you can reduce the inheritance tax rate applied on the remaining 90% of your estate from 40% to 36%.

We recommend that you speak to a legal advisor about how the Inheritance Tax rules apply to you and your particular circumstances.
