We are delighted to welcome back past pupils, known as Old Cumnorians (OCs), OC Parents and former Staff members to the School and strive to facilitate a long and happy association with Cumnor House Sussex.
Despite moving on to a huge range of senior schools and universities, OCs continually demonstrate a tremendous show of support for one another as well as their childhood school.
Events & Reunions
Recent Leavers’ Gatherings
A year after their move to senior school, we invite our recent Leavers, plus their parents, to Cumnor for a summer barbecue lunch, giving our OCs and OC parents the opportunity to catch up with one another and share their individual experiences of life at senior school. It is a gathering that is always very well attended, and helps consolidate past friendships for the future. Having been unable to host this event in 2021 for our 2020 Leavers, because of Covid restrictions, we will be hosting our 2020 and 2021 Leavers at Cumnor on Sunday 29th May 2022. Click here to find out more and sign up for this gathering.
Since 2017 we have organised annual 10-year reunion events for OCs and their parents, to mark the 10th anniversary of their departure from Cumnor. The events prove phenomenally popular – a truly memorable day when the ‘Class’ and their parents are reunited with old friends, as well as former and current teachers.
On Saturday 9th October 2021, the ‘Class of 2010’ returned to Cumnor with their parents as well as former and current members of staff, for Drinks and Canapés in The Peake and Lunch in the Dining Room. Because of Covid the event had to be delayed for a year, but it was certainly worth the wait. The 100 who joined us were able to enjoy Cumnor at its very best on a gloriously sunny autumnal day.
In the words of the Pullan family: “A huge THANK YOU to the Cumnor team for laying on such a splendid day for the ‘Class of 2010’ and their parents. We enjoyed every minute of it, from the speeches, to the food and, of course, the company. It was just wonderful to see how well all the young got on together again.”
And from the Engel family: “Please could you thank everyone involved in organising the Reunion. We really enjoyed it. It was lovely to see everyone and to share happy memories. Iona especially enjoyed chatting with the staff, and Kelly and her team excelled themselves in the kitchen, as always. It was good to meet Fergus & Tamsyn and to see all the new buildings. Even without the children running around, the school has such a special atmosphere. We are all lucky to have been part of it.”
