Destination Schools
Each year we see our kind, happy, confident and empowered Year 8’s ready to take the next step in their education. Our independence is a precious asset enabling us to give families truly impartial and bespoke advice, supporting them in choosing the right Senior School for each child.
Cumnor is uniquely placed to have access to some of the very best Senior Schools in the country. Our understanding of each pupil’s strengths and talents, as well as very strong relationships with each of our Senior School Heads and Admissions teams, enables us to support you in choosing the right Senior School to help your child thrive and flourish. Over the past fifteen years, we have seen Cumnor children go on to over fifty different schools around the country, equally spread between schools within an hour of Cumnor and those further afield. The Cumnor Journey to selecting a senior school starts in Year 5 when parents meet with the Headmaster for the first of several occasions to discuss aspirations and review the timeline for each stage of the process. At Cumnor, we are committed to providing parents with pathways to the top Senior Schools, both locally and nationally, through strong partnerships and excellent preparation for milestones such as the ISEB Pre-Test.
In the academic year 2021 – 22, 45 leavers from Year 8 moved on to 15 different senior schools, securing a fantastic 22 Awards and Scholarships between them including nine Academic, five Drama and four Sport. Destination schools for that year group included Ardingly College, Brighton College, Charterhouse, Cranleigh, Eastbourne College, Hurstpierpoint College, King’s Canterbury, Tonbridge School and Wellington College.
