This week we welcomed Olympic legend Jessica Ennis-Hill and comedian Jon Richardson to shine a spotlight on children’s mental health and the work of Bright Young Dreams.
Pupils from across the local area including St Giles Primary School, Blackthorns Community Primary Academy, Danehill Primary, Barcombe Primary and Holy Trinity Cuckfield, came together for a day of discussion and workshops designed to help young people better understand and manage their mental well-being.
As part of the visit, Jessica and Jon took part in a Q&A session and fun run, working alongside teachers to provide valuable insights into resilience, self-confidence, and emotional well-being.
Cumnor was chosen as the starting point for the tour because of its strong commitment to nurturing the whole child – mind, heart, and spirit. More than ever, young people need not just knowledge, but also the confidence, emotional intelligence, and resilience to thrive in an ever-evolving world.
We were thrilled to have Channel 5 News and BBC South East join us. Read more here.
Every child needs to be happy and feel safe in order to thrive. All of us struggle from time to time, but it can be particularly hard for children who do not always have the vocabulary or other tools to help express how they are feeling. Bright Young Dreams is doing just that by enabling parents, teachers and children to talk about their mental health, whether that’s at home, at school or with their peers.
