Nursery places are confirmed when we have received a signed Registration Form, a non-refundable £100 Registration Fee, a signed Parent Contract and full payment of a deposit. To enable planning, sessions must be pre-booked in advance before the beginning of term. A minimum of two booked sessions is required per week. It is also possible to book additional one-off sessions, if there is space available.

Yes. All Childcare Voucher Schemes are accepted and we are also registered to accept payments from Tax-Free Childcare accounts.

At Cumnor we accept Universal Funded Entitlement (15 hours), 2 Year-Old Funded Entitlement (15 hours) and Extended Funded Entitlement (30 hours) in the afternoon sessions from 12pm only. Please see Fees for more detail on how to claim.

Every child will be allocated a key worker as the first point of contact. Your key worker will also complete your child’s reports. However, all of our fantastic Nursery team will care for your child and you can find out more about them in our Nursery window and on Tapestry.

Yes, although this is subject to availability and we would advise early booking.

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets standards for the learning, development and care of your child from birth to 5 years old. It covers every area of children’s development, specifically looking at seven different areas; Physical Development, Communication and Language, Personal Social and Emotional Development, Literacy, Numeracy, Understanding the World and Expressive Art and Design.

We support the transition to Reception to be as seamless as possible. As children enter their final year at Cumnor Nursery (Butterflies), we regularly visit the Pre-Prep at break time; this means that by the time children start Reception they are familiar with the surroundings and teachers. We also host a ‘School Readiness Forum’ to support parents during this time.

All children should bring a bag with a spare full change of clothes, wellies and a coat, and cap / sunhat or warm hat and gloves. All items should be clearly named. We recommend comfortable, easy clothes with few fixings. We encourage independent dressing where possible so clothes they can put on themselves are best and items that don’t matter too much if they get grubby! We are outside in all weathers and we have a supply of waterproof all-in-ones when required.

If someone other than yourself will be collecting your child, please provide as much notice as possible. They will need to provide the password that is stored securely on site and requested as part of your child’s enrolment.

At Cumnor Nursery we use Tapestry, an online learning journal. At the end of each day we share an update on the day’s activities including what we have eaten along with videos and photos which you can look at with you child. Important notices and updates are also shared via Tapestry.

All food is cooked on site by Cumnor’s chefs at school and provides a balanced and carefully created menu for the children.

We take the utmost care, making sure we carry the correct medicine around with us should a child need it. Parents, kitchen staff and Nursery staff work together to make sure children are only given the correct special diets. A detailed medical form is completed on enrolment.

We have nursing staff on campus and all staff are paediatric first aid trained. In addition, our Nursery staff complete an administration of medicines course. We have paracetamol and Piriton at Nursery and can also administer auto injectors and inhalers should a child have a plan for their use. We can administer antibiotics so long as your child is well enough to be at Nursery.

We often find that children watch their peers at Nursery, eat well and regularly tuck into to food that they may not have liked at home before! We will always endeavour to find something that a child enjoys, although we do encourage children to at least try what is on offer.

Nappies, wipes and bags are included in the daily fee. Please apply an all-day sun cream before your child is dressed daily. We will top this up after swimming if required.

We will work with each family and child individually to help little ones with this transition.

We have a dedicated sleep room and children will sleep either in a named cot, with their own special toys/snugglies or on a mat with their own fresh bedlinen.
