Drama

With a newly refurbished Theatre, which boasts professional lighting and sound, and a unique outdoor arena for our summer Shakespeare productions, Cumnor’s Drama Department is an essential part of school life.

Passion and participation sit at the heart of Cumnor Drama and our theatre space is a hub for creativity. Through weekly Drama lessons, our children are encouraged to express their thoughts, ideas and feelings in a safe environment. Learning to interact with others in creative ways, become more self-confident and self-aware communicators, are the key skills we harness in our pupils. Through role play, script work and improvisation we build our students’ confidence, creativity, co-ordination, co-operation, collaboration, empathy and resilience.

Our thriving Drama Scholarship enrichment programme supports our students meet their potential as they aim high, and has enabled our keenest and most talented pupils gain Drama Scholarships to Brighton College, Worth, Eastbourne, Tonbridge, King’s Canterbury, Hurstpierpoint and Ardingly College over the last few years.

Our commitment to the Performing Arts and exceptional facilities has also enabled us to offer a Performing Arts Scholarship, at Cumnor, in Years 7 and 8. Find out more here
