Destinations and scholarships

We are an outstanding school that produces dynamic and creative young people, well prepared and ready for their next steps, confident of who they are and what they can do.

We are proud to prepare our Year 8 leavers for a range of destination schools, including all of Sussex’s outstanding independent senior schools, and the very best weekly and full boarding schools across the country.

We are a non-selective school. Notwithstanding, our pupils have secured a remarkable 163 scholarship awards over the past five years with just over 60% of last year’s leavers winning scholarships including 6 Academic, 6 Sport, 5 Performing Arts, 5 DT and 5 Art in addition to a Brighton College Millennium Award. We are also truly independent, sending our children onto 52 different senior schools in the last ten years.

We put this success down to the individualised attention that every child in our school receives. It is what sets us apart, and it is what enables all our pupils to achieve such outstanding results.

Reflections from Cumnor parents

Our daughter has started at her senior school standing tall and feeling happy in her own skin. She finished Cumnor as a quietly confident, resilient girl who we felt sure would move into the next chapter with an open heart and mind.
Our children have grown up in an idyllic setting, surrounded by warmth, kindness and encouragement. We have all made lifelong friends and leave with treasured memories!
Thank you for providing the most wonderful start to the lives of our three girls. A place of warmth and nurture in the most amazing setting. The memories and friendships will last a lifetime.
Thank you for giving our daughter great roots and grounding as well as helping her find her wings to fly.

Senior school pathways

Choosing a senior school starts in Year 5 with a talk for all parents. After this, we arrange private one-to-one meetings to discuss individual choices, longlisting, shortlisting and then final choices.

When the time comes to look at future schools, we offer personalised advice and targeted support, founded on longstanding relationships with our senior school partners.
